Shamen of Africa

Genoa Adventurer's Guild
How much do you know about African religions? The only thing that we seem to know is that after the king, the shaman ranks highes in the hierarchy. It's not possible for us to study the entire continent, so we'll have to narow the research to one tribe. Start by asking around at Saint-Georges.

Nyau Mask 1. Large people found nearby
To the east of here there is a large race of people known as the Yoruba. They have shamans that perform rituals to communicate with their gods. You want to meet a shaman? Hmm, that may be prove to be difficult but if you head over to Sao Tome you should find a lot of Yoruba people that you can talk about it.
2. Rites of the Yoruba
The Yoruba religion has 1700 gods. In their rituals they must present an offering to the god Eshu. Shamans wear very extravagant masks when performing these rituals. I think it'd be pretty hard for them to allow and outsider to just suddenly meet with them.
3. Priest of the Yoruba
The shaman is of high social status to the Yoruba people and it seems as though it may be difficlt for me to meet one in person. The opposite shore north-east of Sao Tome is where they live so maybe i can check things out there for myself. Perhaps they have left something behind arund the red flowers to the east that i can use as a clue.

A mask of the Yoruba people who prosper in the central region of Western Africa. This belongs to a high priest who acts as an oracle. The Yoruba excel in woodwork and bronze work and this mask demonstrates some exquisite craftwork.
