Is that so? So even the flames of burning water can be extinguished by pouring water over them?
Well, when it comes to alchemy, Alexandria is the place where it all started.
Why don't you go there and look for someone who is knowledgeable on the subject?

                                        1. Naphtha
What? You wish to make fire that would not be extinguished by water. Than I suggest naphtha. If you distil burning water, the result is an oil known as naphtha. Naphtha is Persian for burning water. It burns easily, and is hard to extinguish. This alone, however, will not make a waterproof fire.

                                        2. Composition of Greek Fire
True, skill is required to create Naphtha from burning water, but perhaps a little extra work will do the job? I'm not too clear on the details, but perhaps adding sulphur to encourage burning and mixing pine resin in to make it stickier will do. Does it still remain in Istanbul?

                                        3. The Fall of Constantinople
                                        What? "Greek Fire" ?
... According to the stories it's hardly gold or jewels, but no, there's nothing of the sort left here. When the city collapsed, anything of interest was given to the sultan, and all the rest was discarded.

                                        4. Fugitive to Salonika
When the city fell, Greek Fire was not used. Because we held the route for carrying burning water from Arabia. When we conquered the city, those who knew how to create it fled to Salonika. It really is a pity, knowing how to create wuch a thing would have been useful.

                                        5. Buried close to a tree
When my late grandfather was a child, there was apparently a man carrying several large barrels who had fled from Constantinople. He buried the barrels immediately, saying that the secrets of its creation should not fall into the wrong hands, and he was sealing it away to prevent any further danger. He buried it near the trees to the north of the castle gates.

                                        6. Greek Fire
The Greek Fire was carried to Salonika when Constantinople fell, and was buried in the earth there. The place is by a lone pine tree, to the north of the Salonika gates. Search for it there.

A flaming liquid used in the Byzantine empire around the 7th century. It is made by mixing sulphur and pine resin with petroleum. Said to burn with an intense flame, the fires cannot be doused by mere water. It is believed that it originally came from the east.
