Abu Simbel Temple

1. Gaint statue looking upward
It's hard to believe that such a grand temple has nearly become forgotten. I've heard that there are statues near the entrance as well as inside. I believe the statues are based on Pharaohs. My library on archaeology might contain some useful information.

2. King of construction
Ramses II was known as the king who built things. He is perceived as such because he had several large buildings constructed. Most of these temples have statues decorating the entrance. These statues are usually of gods or of close family members. His first wife, Nefertari was said to be very beautiful.

3. Gaint statue of the Pharaoh
I wonder if the statue that stands at the entrance of Abu Simbel temple Ramses II himself. The name of the statue should be inscribed on it. Disembark at the upper stream of the Nile and do a "Search" at the temple entrance.
