      No.14459

      An aged Mary
      No Expiration
      Seville Adventurer's Guild
A few decades ago there was an Italian sculptor named Donatello. You can see his works still displayed in many churches. Apparently, there is one peculiar wood sculpture he made of a female saint, and I would like you to look into it. Genoa would be a good place to ask.

              Mary in later life
A unique statue of the Saint Mary? Well, perhaps you should take a look at the statue of Mary Magdalene in Naples. Normally, one would sculpt her form whe she was young and beautiful... However, this particular statue portrays her later years, when she is older. It is in the church in Naples, but perhaps you should study about it first in the archives in this town.

              Mary Magdalene
Mary Magdalene was once possessed by seven demons. Jesus chased those demons out of her, purifying her heart. After Jesus rose to heaven, it is said that Mary wore her long hair as clothing and spent thirty years meditating in the desert.

A wooden statue by Donatello. Mary Magdalene converted and became a follower of Jesus. After his death she is thought to have shut herself away in the mountains as the world had nothing left to offer her. Normal statues depict her as young and beautiful, while here she is shown as an elderly woman.
