John Tradescant
Your contributions to the world of biology have reached my ears. Your research of the wilds is not something for any average sailor. ... But I would have to tell you that even still, you are merely treading in the footsteps of an adventurer named John Tradescant.

Skilful and scholarly adventurer
There are two things we know about him. He is from England. His goal was to reach some place no others would dare to go... Those who knew Tradescant say that there was nothing in the world he didn't know. Thus, he was a man of deep knowledge and many talents.

Up the Amazon river
If I find a creature that can charm all of Europe, I might just decide to settle there. He said that, jokingly, and went off to the upper reaches of the Amazon. Maybe if you searched the land there, you might be able to find something.

  With its wings spread, this very large bird can reach a wing span of 1.8 meters. It eats the carcasses of dead animals, but never attacks living animals. It has a brightly-coloured body, and the top of its beak is orange-coloured wattle.
