1. A legend if a legend
Yeah, the legend is told with a lot of details but in the end it's still just a legend. Nobody knows exactly when the events in the legend took place or if there are any direct descendants of the people it talks about... Hey, I know! You should ask the men around town. Supposedly there was a tool they use when hunting that had Kupe's name on it.

2. A wooden lance from long ago
Are you talking about our wooden spears? There's one type of spear we use while hunting that we call "Kupe's wooden spear". It's had its unique shape since long ago and the method of constructing it has been passed down from generation to generation even to this day. As for why it's called Kupe's wooden spear... I never even thought about it to tell you the truth. It's been that way forever...

3. Kupe's wooden lance
The spear used by the people of Wanganui when hunting is named after Kupe. However, nobody knows excatly how it got to be named that. Perhaps the shape of the spear can give me a clue as to where Hawaiki is located. I should head into the outskirts of Wanganui and look for clues.

  A wooden spear bearing the name of Kupe. Kupe is said to have discovered Aotearoa and then returned to Hawaiki. He then convinced many to follow him and then guided the group to Aotearoa from Hawaiki. He was one of the ancestors of the Maori people.
