I have a job I want to ask of you. Do you know about the Syakamuni Buddha, right? It goes without saying that he is the founder of Buddhism. I have learned of plans to collect artefacts of this Syakamuni and learn about him. Will you help out? If you agree to help, go ask Mayor Vejle for more information.

A Type of Buddhist Relics 15 17 1 Relic of the Tooth of the Buddha

                1. Investigate power required
Hmm, I suspect that you are not a Buddhist, am I right? You may think it strange to help someone of another faith, but I would appreciate your help. I need someone with excellent researching skills for my plan. You see, there are some problems in history after the Buddha has entered nirvana... that is, after the Buddha has died.

                2. War contrary to final words
When the Buddha entered nirvana in a town called Kushinagar in northern India, a flood of kingdoms large and small popped up throughout the land. And, contrary to the Buddha's request for all to rely on his teachings alone, his remains and ashes were fought over by many. In the end his aches and remains spread across eight different locations...

                3. Redistribution to eight thousand places
India was unified during Emperor Ashoka's reign in the Mauryan dynasty. That is all well and good but as the devout Buddhist that he was he dug seven of the eight locations of the Buddha's remains and sent a small amount to nearly 80,000 different temples around the country.

                4. Investigation of distribution of eastern countries
In addition, the gemstones laid before his remains in commemoration were all given to various temples and now nobody knows which ones are real and which ones are fake... particularly the ones distributed to the eastern country. I'd like to get your help in finding the real ones. Start by gathering any information you can in Malacca.

                5. Oldest port records
Hmm, if only we had records of the monks that returned to port from India...
Unfortunately I don't think there are any records from around the time period of Emperor Ashoka's reign. I'll try to dig up the oldest records I can find..

                6. The monk went to Java
...I found something! The exact time period isn't written but this seems to be a record from the latter half of the 8th century. A monk that studied the Buddha's teachings in the western country stopped by the port here in Malacca to return to his home country of Java Island.

                7. Buddhist temple remaining on the island
Hmm, well... the teaching of Islam have spread through here so there aren't many Buddhist left. But there are rumours that there were many Buddhist temples built on this island so maybe that monk you're talking about stored the remains there. Of course, I have no idea where that temple might be...

                8. Buy me a drink and I'll tell you
You found the temple ruins? Wow! Oh, so now you're looking for the remains of the Buddha, eh? Hmm, you're always up to something difficult aren't you? But don't worry, I'll let you in on something... if you buy me a round that is...

                9. At random
Hehe, thanks. In India those relics are stored in a kind tower called a stupa. Was there a stupa at the ruins you discovered here on this island? What? It's all stupas?! Guess you're just gonna have to search everywhere until you find it then!

                10. Relic of Gautama Buddha
I was asked to recover the remains of the Buddha that had been distributed to the eastern country. In India, the Buddha's remains are stored in towers called stupas, but the Buddhist temple on Java Island is nothing but stupas. I should be able to find the remains in one of them. Of course, who knows if they're the real thing or not... I think this is going to be harder than I thought...

Said to be the ashes of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. The holiest of holies in the Buddhist religion. The word is derived from the sanskrit word for body.
