                          trade fame is not hard these days, youll take longer to raise cooking, btw i got both this and the next one with Mystery Spices at 8+5.

                          If you complete the quest and try to take it again in a fleet for second book, it says that you don't meet the requirements.

                          I suspect you must complete quest chain, but not sure.

                          Just as a note, you cannot take the same quest twice in a row, even if it's being held by a different person. I found this out when I tried to do the Amulet of the Sun quest twice in a row (I pulled it, and a friend did immediately after I reported the quest), only to get a message about "not meeting the requirements". Port resetting or doing another quick quest in-between clears the "buffer", so to speak.

                          That said, even if this quest is repeatable, the item/eq drop rate may be incredibly small (like Excalibur's 5% 2nd drop), if not outright non-existent.

                          What Guilder said should be the reason why Emma can't take it second time, except port reset doesn't clear the "buffer". You really have to do another quest in between to be able to take it again. Also, I'm not sure this 5% for excal and the other top adv quest rewards applies here (it's adv-specific I think). I'd be tempted to suggest you'll be able to get a second book every time you repeat this quest.

                          30k trade fame is the minimum for this quest, 50k is for the pattisier job

                          It seems that being in the Chef job, or at least in a job that has cooking favoured, is a prerequisite for this quest. I spent 25 QMPs trying to get this quest to show up (I have maxed trade fame of 400k, Port language, and cooking to R10 in a non trade job). But when I switched to Chef job, quest popped up the next QMP. Can anyone else verify this, or was this just a coincidence?

                          Well, according to GVDB: "Rare Que necessary trade fame 45000 cooking R10 required probability 40%"

                          Of course, z's comment says you only need 30k trade fame minimum. I guess one way to test for sure would be to pull the quest, then try to share it with someone who isn't in Chef job, or lacks the cooking ranks, etc.. I did this quest too long ago to recall what my setup at the time was, sadly.
