I've got 75k adventure fame, r8 recognition, r10 caution, was r5+7 sociability and have the opposum dicovery. I used about 15 qmp's with the santo domingo adventure mediator and then a special qmp but couldnt get this quest to pop up.
Possible reasons I can think of preventing me from getting it to show are..
1. I'm only battle level 17 with 4900 battle fame.
2. I may have discovered the opposum from a quest and not the map (as there are some discoveries you can get from either)
3. Opposum discovery is unreported.
Can anybody think what I may be missing?

So.. from a quest you got the opposum discovery and "that" quest is till not reported.. how in the hell do you expect to get it with an unreported discovery? also unreported quest? Also the map is very easy to get, better go and discover it again.

This need 10k battle fame and 60k adventure fame to spawn, when u have it, this spawn really fast, i used 2 qmp to get it.

@Shirin its an unreported archive map discovery like 500+ of mine are still and yea, after posting i realized that wouldnt make sense if it was a quest discovery seeing as ive done a few hundred adventure quests since then.

If my team member who has enough fame and got the quest. (i couldn't as i don't have enough fame)

This quest just popped for me and I wasn't even looking for it. FYI: I have 60k adventure fame and also have Opossum discovery. But my Opossum discovery is unreported so that doesn't appear to be a requirement to pull this quest. Also, my Sociability level is only r5.

I pulled this quest with 250k adv. fame and 50k maritime fame, but a fleet member had 15k adv, 26k maritime, 22k trade and was able to accept it.

For those who may not yet have known (and it's not like the game itself ever flat-out tells you)...
To pull a quest, you must: meet the required fame, and also have found any necessary pre-discoveries/quests/port permits.
To share a quest with others, your fleet members must: have found the necessary pre-discoveries/quests/port permits. Their fame doesn't matter.

Your need a couple of fleet members to help to take down the Cortes fleet (10 Heavy Gallons with up to 800 dura each): They accelerate fast and hit hard and I was unable to do it with AOS alone.

A strategy that worked for me was (on a 4 man fleet) having the best meleer rush the captain and the other 3 working on support duties (leadership, firefighting, repair, surgery)

It is possible to win the fleet battle with AoS, but you need at least two fleet members spamming it simultaneously at the same time for it to work -- my fleet managed it with three AoS users while a fourth member repaired just to be safe. I find binding AoS to custom slots helped a lot in speeding up usage.

A future update (post Age of Revolution: Chapter 3) will apparently reduce the skill requirements of this quest. Quote:

As mentioned above by Guilder, the requirements have indeed been nerfed down to R1 Recognition/Caution/Sociability

The 10 ship fleet you have to face at the end has also been made easier: They now fight in 
Battle Galleon rather then 
Heavy Galleon so they have a lower durability, armour, crew, and cannon count. It's still a bit difficult to do with AoS alone though. I recommend getting into a battle ship and fit it with armour plates to withstand the cannonfire, or have another player assist you by spamming AoS with you or using repair.
