                    Divide and Discontinuation
The fork itself has existed since Roman times. With the East-west divide of the Empire, fork was continued to be used in the Eastern Roman Empire, while the Western Roman Empire no longer used forks due to the invasion by different ethnic groups. It wasn't until 11th century when forks returned to the western side.

                    Imperial Marriage and Shock
It's said that back when Empress Theodora from Constantinople came to marry the Doge on this land, she brought tableware including forks. But because the forks were no longer used in the Western Roman Empire, the Empress was called 'a sinner poisoned by foreign religions'.

                    Criticism Against 'Luxury'
At the time the Empress also brought finger bowls and napkins, but ir probably appeared as conceited luxury to the people here. ...It's even said that the people argued the use of forks by saying 'God has given the greatest cutlery called 'hands'.'

Although Claimed as the Greatest Cutlery
Good grief, if they thought bare hands are so good, I would have asked about the knife used to cut meats... According to rumor, when Theodora, the nobilities of this land are said to have taken in her items. Perhaps you can also find her tableware too.

                    Look for its Trace
Fork has existed since Ancient Roman times but was lost in the Western Roman Empire, and was not used again until Eastern Roman Empress married the Doge of Venice. The nobility who took her items might be the ancestors of the Orseolo Family. Let's go find out.
