Is it more worth while to do Ship Speed Up rebuild or to do Vertical/Horizontal Sail Improvements and why ?

My alt is SB herself and currently I experienced that you can get speed up 1 from g1, speed up 2 from g3 and speed up 3 g5 or g6 (this one also unknown for me). These three in combination increases your acceleration DRASTICALLY that it makes impossible for everyone (including pirates) to catch you when leaving port. Although the discription says it increases ship speed, I have yet to test that if it is true.

Vertical/Horizontal Sail Improvements is something I don't recommend for fusion especially if you do already special shipbuilding which will do the work. Besides you get already a small amount of these improvements if your ship is on the right type.

No, gama can go to G6 as there was a G6 Mod frigate made.

You can go up to G6 on ship fusion, it's just that it takes many MANY bils of ducats to get there, and there are only a handful of players that have the means to do that.

If i have rowing refined r20 and row assistance in a row ship like ShadROG, still su123 will increase the acceleration? Does su123 also increase top ship speed?

I'm all about speed, and i'm willing to buy a ShadROG to make it the fastest as possible. I've told it's nonsense put su123 in row ships. But it still will increase speed, right?

My understanding is that SSU skills only affect your initial acceleration, nothing else. If somebody more learned in these things than I could please share your additional wisdom, it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I thougth about testing how effectiv SSU1-3 is. But...


1. I have no idea how to test that reliable without investing days if not weeks.

2. Even if it ends up beeing only a slight advantage, i would still use it, because:

3. What else would you use? SSU1-3 is a grading bonus, on a ship you plan to improve most of them are useless since overmodding exist. The only one that sees some uses is cargo improvement on an aide/alt ship you dont want to max and then SSU would not be an option anyway.

The only real options for an racer/nanban lead/admiral/battle/"whatever not gets towed" ship are SSU or shipskills (inherant, more optional skills, in rare cases Exploration Ship Refit for shipwrecks).


So if you dont need/want anymore shipskills, then get SSU because no matter how small the effect is, it's still a benefit and there are no better options.

speed up is not velocity up. it is acceleration up.
