    Having received aid from Spain, Cristobal Colon sails west across the Atlantic Ocean and finally arrives at the New World. This news sends a strong pulse through the countries of Europe. From that point on, explorers, funded by their countries, began to sail the Atlantic looking for the treasures that were lying in wait for them in the New World.

This historical event of the 15th Century (5th period) is one of the few adventure-type events and has arrived on Maris for what I believe is the first time. To participate, you have to register for the ship race and sail from Seville to San Juan.... in a medium/standard-class ship. About 20 times or so.

Well. Do have fun with that. Noteworthy rewards for racing enough times:

Wanderer of the Ages Hat / Pioneer of History - (unlocked at the same time; title must be picked up from a certain NPC)
Traveler's Treasure Box - final reward
