  • The Printing Press
In Germany, printing, a technology for using blocks to copy words onto paper, had been invented. This historical invention made it easy to disseminate books accurately and in large numbers. Aiming to strengthen themselves, each country was hurrying to acquire this technology.

Merchant historical event from the World Clock's XV Century, period 3. Here's a link to a Japanese guide:

If anyone remembers the Plague Epidemic event from long time ago i.e. you had to buy Senna from Calicut to deliver to a port in Europe... it works in a similar fashion for this event. You buy fiber type goods from a port in the Carib and sell in Europe for a profit to count. Heres what works:

Buying hemp From Santiago.
Buying Kenaf from Havana.
(note that Ivryo doesn't list these at purchasable in those ports, but they are there if you invest).
If your Dutch, buying Sisal from Willemstad will work too.
Strangely enough, while buying Sisal from Willemstad will work, it does not if it's from Caracas. So Venetian players will have to use the Santiago/Havana route.
And like the plague event, collecting from land areas wont count.

Thanks Blake, can i port hop in the carrib to get the max amount of hemp my cargo could store, then sail to europe and sell 5 at a time, report quest, take quest, sell and repeat for 50 times to get the box?

Hmm. In looking at translated text from the above link, I also see something that seems to suggest Nanban textile goods could be used to help finish this quest. Somebody might want to look into that possibility.

I got different results:
1 delivery - Renegotiation demand x 3
2 - Exquisite Fur x20
5 - Improved steel sheet x10
9 - Improved steel sheet x5
15 - Saints Staff
18 - Ruler of the Ages Hat and Minister of History title
21 - Chest
so it easier than usually

inside the chest just 10 Renegotiation demand's
seems like waste of time :(

Were you in a fleet, Dvc80? Most Historical events go by much quicker if you're fleeted with others, or so it seems.

As for the rewards, BlakeC's list is accurate for the pay-for Asian servers; I wondered if they might have changed the items for GAMA. Additionally, the final reward chest is another one of those 'random drop' items, so you can either get something very valuable from it, or end up with plain old junk.

The rewards list I posted earlier was taken from the Japanese wiki, so it appears the rewards were [unfortunately] changed for us on GAMA.

I got the Treasure Box of Wealth at the 21th run but I didn't got the title, any idea? I have the Adventurer and Maritimer title already, missing this one only. I've checked my titles a couple times already, if there's a bug I'll send a ticket but I would like to confirm if anyone else got the title without problems. Thanks

I think you need 39 runs to get the title.

Yes I see BlakeC post, but I got the rewards like Dvc80 posted, I will do runs 'till the 39th to see, thanks for the reply.

edit: now I feel bad :P after (I supose was my 18th run) I start getting a message from Alias to go to Frankfurt. She wanted to give me the title.

Just a quick note: a friend of mine discovered that Madeira counts as "Europe" territory for the event.

B!

That's because Madeira is in europe (irl)

Now available on Maris. Not quite the event some of us were hoping for, but a nice one all the same. Cheers.

The three endings are:

1.? (Historically accurate ending; +2 to World Clock moving forward)
2.? ('Draw' ending; +1 to World Clock moving forward)
3. No spread of Technology (counter-historical accuracy; -1 to World Clock moving forward)

I will update this comment if and when further information becomes available. Cheers.
