Anyone have this (r4 bow feint) tech? I have 40 yellow (feint) bow finesse and r11 sniping. I've also got the r3 yellow tech. I'm using the finesse acquisition tech I've failed to learn it >10 times. What gives! Anyone know if there's a new requirement for this tech that I'm missing?

Wondering if they've added a "bow attack" requirement for this tech or if I'm just plain unlucky. Any input is appreciated.

For R4 techs onward, you need to learn them from NPCs that use them on you in order to acquire them. For New Eagle Arrow, you can learn it from the following NPCS and their locations (the NPC names are G.T. from the Japanese wiki so they might be a bit different for us on Maris):

Poacher Lv 48 at Northeast Panama
Fisherman Lv 53 at Northeast Guatemala
Outraged Explorer LV 53 at Bordeaux mid dungeon floor 4

To get them to use it on you, your need to get the gauge that's at the upper center of the screen to 4 (where you and the enemy can use R4 techs and provoke him with techs of your own (while being careful not to kill him). That will get him a bit mad and will hopefully use them on you. It can take multiple tries to get him to use it on you, and then you might have to repeat the process, killing him and trying again. I just read the comment and there is one thing I wish to add...

The sword gauge (the one above your screen interface) is for you and the NPC different. They can use higher rank techs than yours if their sword gauge is higher than yours (which is in the most occassion).

For the purpose of tech hunt, you don't need to do anything about your own sword gauge, it's just that the NPC don't use their R3+ techs that frequently.

Sorry I should have clarified, I'm aware of that and I'm failing to learn it from the NPC who uses it >10 times, despite being above what I think the requirements are. I've tried all 3 of the NPCs who use it according to Jap Wiki. My question is has this been changed to include Bow Attack as a requirement, because it seems like I should have gotten it by now. Since originally posting I've probably tried an additional 30 more times, no dice.

The Japanese wiki doesn't list a Bow Attack requirement.

Hmm My R3 bow techs doesn't list Bow Attack as a requirement, so I doubt Bow Attack is needed as R4 as well. It sounds like your probably just really unlucky is all. If you have the Finesse Acquisition Instruction from the Founders rewards it helps a TON and saves so much time.
