Good if you do a lot of piracy/privateering too. There are better adventure aides than this, if you do adventure primarily.

I cannot see any point in hiring adventure aides for discovery-related skills.
If you are to hire an aide for adventure, I recommend Holfina who has wind, wave and seaweed proofness. She is the best figurehead indeed lol

You'd be surprised how often those skill boosts come in handy when adventuring. That said, it's situational: some folks will find it useful to have a little extra Theology or the ability to correspond with three nations, some would prefer Holfina's sailing combos. That's the beauty of a game like UWO.
