Rashid
06-15-2012
after turning Ottoman, is it possible to defect back to original country? or to get good relations with different countries through correspondence and defect?

Natascha
06-15-2012

dedicated SB defect to all nations so that they can build all ships and models

George
06-15-2012
Ottoman .. I very dislike this country ,,
Full of pirates , the most Hatefull country

Steward
07-14-2012
How many total correspondences are needed to get to max relations? if you go straight through with going anywhere else.

Claudia
07-14-2012
Hey george, its just the new spain

Jean
08-06-2012
George. this is war. do you know the history? the turkish seljuks were attacked first. so stop creating lies

Beatrice
08-06-2012
You know Jean he aint relly lieing, if you look at it ingame wive 1 out of 3 ottoman players is pirats and even the ottoman npc will attack you at random(even if you never done en eny thing) unlike other nations npcs, most of thier ports(if not all) are even racists and demarnd dresscodes for you to enter.

Wen zhi
08-06-2012
is it the problem of Ottoman or the game maker, what you think. however when you think from the stand point of game makers some spice needed to liven up the game, (and caribbean pirates just as ruhtless). I think they filled Ottoman waters with npc pirates or attacking ottoman ships because of Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha. When he was young, he was a pirate known as red beard from Algiers, but in his olden days he was made into Kaptan-ı Derya (admiral of the all navy)of the Ottoman navy by the Ottoman sultan Süleyman the Magnificent.

Sylvia
08-06-2012
hey George, u again?

Jafar
10-25-2012
how can i do this fast?

Montador
10-25-2012
Don't think it can be done "fast". It'll take at least 2 days of real time. Make sure that your aide has a high score in Lookout (100S, if possible) and just go to the Black Sea and sail around. Correspond with Ottoman flagged fleets every 9 days at sea. Sitting at sea doesn't work; you have to be moving.

Lancelot
10-26-2012
Two days but how many hours a day?

Montador
10-26-2012
All day long.

Ming Mei
11-15-2012
It is 10 days at sea. Also note that once you defect your relations with the other countries will not drop below "enmity", meaning you will have to pay 500k ever tie you wish to enter a port that is the territory of another nation

Mei Hua
11-15-2012
wrong information, enemity doesnt pay

Dongwoo
11-15-2012
Hostile = 1m to enter
Enmity = 500k to enter

Laurencio
11-15-2012
Hostile = 1m to enter
Enmity = 500k to enter

guess what if you have noto thats what you pay for but if you go below 1.5k then you dont have to pay for it :)

Holfina
11-16-2012
Are you sure its not 1k?

Lewis
12-29-2012

Emma
01-05-2013

Li Yue

Sylvia
02-18-2013

Hawka
04-28-2013
From Normal to Amity : 10-15 fleets
From Amity to Goodwill: 10-15 fleets
From Amity to Trust : 15-20 fleets
From Trust to Affection:More than 25 fleets

With Aide has Lookout S Rank "100 points"

Wen zhi
04-29-2013
What are the benefits of corresponding with a certain nation?

Hernan
04-29-2013
defecting

Rashid
04-29-2013
A slight reduction to tariffs(Buying & Selling) with that nation's ports (Territory and Allied).
Normal: 0%
Amity: -1%
Goodwill: -2%
Trust: -3%
Affection: -4%
Sworn Allies: -5%

Enmity towards a nation has a reverse effect of increasing tariffs by the same rate.

Theo
04-29-2013
If you talk to them nicely they won't blow up your marathon with presure cookers.

Francine
07-09-2013
What is the current European ranks? I am dutch looking to defect venice. is this possible without corresponding?

Enver
07-09-2013

Li Yue
07-09-2013
I am dutch, when u go to venicr capital the option to defect doesnt show. I am in normal status with the ventians too. Is there any specific reqs?

Dongwoo
07-09-2013
maybe you have active quest.. you can't defect while having an active quest you know

Nina
07-10-2013
I'm dutch and i check each capital last week. I can't defect to anyone meaning Dutch is currently the lowest nation.

Lewis
07-10-2013
I posted earlier. In dutch too and tried all capitals yesterday. No options to defect. I tho maybe because i was distrust so i discharged myself to normal with all. I tried venice earlier this morning with no options... I may have a quest open like soneone suggested but doubt it. I will update when i get home from work and see if im holding a queat or not.

Rashid
07-10-2013
How to find the current European power ranks in game??

Sophia
07-10-2013
not sure if its changed since then, but as of a week ago venice was second lowest, as dutch was the only country i could defect to

Mei Hua
07-10-2013
Yea, im dutch, holding no quests, and normal with venice and cant defect. Dutch must be the lowest nation...

Kubrius
08-16-2013
Speed seems to be a factor. My aide only has lookout skill of 73, and I tend to have a higher success rate when I'm going very slowly.

Holfina
08-16-2013
No, speed is not a factor. Your success rate is fixed, however you could get many success in a roll, followed by quite a few consequtive failures.

It's just like production's greater sucess. Sometimes i make 8 master cannons in a roll, followed by 10 normal cannons, overall rate is still a constant...

Jafar
08-16-2013
The higher lookout traits your aide has the more effecient this will be.

Chester
11-04-2013
Can you correspond with multiple nations simultaneously to raise your ratings with them, or can you only reach amity-trust-etc. with one nation at a time?

Sylvia
11-05-2013
as u can get distrust-on alert- enmity- warring with many nations at a time it is the same with amity- trust- etc

Igor
12-23-2013
Can someone tell me the current EU rankings? Other than Venice>Dutch? Anything would be great :)

BigBlockin
12-23-2013
You need to add up and the citys on the map held by each country to determine their strength. It can change at any time with player investment.

Holfina
12-23-2013
Hmm, alright, I was under the impression it was more complex though. Thanks for correcting me :)

Lena
12-23-2013
there is more to it than that, but it is an indicator

Squeeze
12-23-2013
I just did some defecting. The current order is England-Spain-France-Portu-Venice-Dutch.

Hernan
12-23-2013
Thanks Squeeze!

BigBlockin
12-24-2013
"there is more to it than that, but it is an indicator" please enlighten us.

Carla
12-24-2013
sure, no problem. simply counting ports under control of nations doesn't give an accurate order of stronger to weaker. KOEI does not think players need to know exactly how it is determined (game of discovery and all that).

It will give you a rough idea, but it will not show you the exact order.

At one time France had control of more ports than any other country, and it wasn't even close. At no time was France the strongest country in the game according to defection order.

That's about as much info as I or anyone can give on it.

To know the order, you have to get all 6 starter nations to run together and see who can defect and who can't. the strongest nation will be able to defect to all the others, 2nd strongest all but one, etc. That's the only reliable way to work it out that I know of.

Lancelot
12-24-2013
So you can't do the defect investment thing right the first time and i'm supposed to believe you know what you're talking about.... oookay. Would you care to explain how England is the strongest nation right now when it has almost no allied ports? And hasn't for some time? Add them up right now and I promise you it will not be the same as the defection order.

I don't care if you believe what I say or not, but somebody is going to listen to what you say and screw up their defection order.

Sylvia
12-30-2013
Recently went otto...but can't seem to enter capitals even though I'm not warring with em. What gives?

Theo
12-30-2013
Did you have to pay 500k to enter or can't enter period?

Sylvia
12-31-2013
I'm Enmity, and it's only the capitals. Yeah, have to pay to enter...

Sylvia
01-01-2014
Is nobody going to answer at all?!

Sylvia
01-01-2014
Do you still have noto?

Meng Meng
01-02-2014
Yes...but I've been pirate before and it hasn't mattered for entering ports!

Kubrius
03-27-2014
Get aide to 100 lookout, make sure aide and you are both in the correspondence circle (and in the middle of the shaded area, not near the edge where lag might play a factor). It is much easier to get right if you slow your speed to the speed of the ship you are trying to correspond with. If you do it this way, you will succeed 100% of the time.

Kubrius
03-28-2014
Well, it could have been a lag spike I suppose, but it failed once in 50+ tries, so maybe not 100%

Gouda
03-28-2015
I have noticed I have more success when I choose to Correspond with the lead ship, and the closer I get to that ship when corresponding, the higher the success rate. and it seems like by a MUCH larger margin, my lookout trait is only 73, but since I have been getting VERY close to the Admiral has gone up to almost 90%

For those wondering, below is the different levels of friendship to go through before you can defect:
Amnity->GoodWill->Trust->Closely Tied->Sworn Allies->Affection
