that is not correct. fire will be an extremely rare event on your ship, but nothing is 100% preventable without using nc items.

It fails like almost all aides' special skills, having it activated doesnt meant that you can't catch fire.

Even if this skill fail to prevent fire it can lessen the damage from fire reducing it only to damage to durability and it don't let cargo get burned. Some times it fail preventing the fire but neither cargo or durability is affected.

This skill greatly reduces the change of getting fire aboard.

But my question is, does it works vs flameshot cannon?

Yes it extinguish it as soon as the fire starts.. but who's dumb enough to sacrifice an aide duty to Store Keeper where you can use it on Lieutenant or Surgeon.?

Hmm...my cargo still gets burnt due to fire, so this skill does NOT really prevent your cargo from getting burnt by fire.
A good way to test out how well this skill reduces fire is when you're cooking vigour food, such as Seafood Pizzas.

I never get fire with this skill, but do remember you need water and food onboard or your aide won't do any preventing.

Never had a fire on my ship when my aide is on Storekeeper duty (he has Fire Prevention). So I think it's safe to say that there's next to no chance of your ship catching fire if your aide has this skill and is on Storekeeper. As you can imagine, this is very useful for spice trading.

It doesn't PREVENT, it DECREASE fire frecuency on you ship. Aide traits don't increase this skill efectiveness but having 100 skill crew, that sh*t will help.

That's a given for all Aide disaster prevention skills, really. But it has been said that Aide trait points = percentage of success (with 100 points being 99.9%) in the skill triggering, and it certainly seems to hold true with my own experiences. 100 Crew skill may help in conjunction with it, but I get fires quite frequently when I sail through the disaster-triggering zones and don't have this skill active, even with 100 Crew skill.

Actually every aide skill gives 100 % prevention theoretical if the trait is at 100S on that specific prevention skill. However what most do not realise is that aide (s) are like sailors in your ship that needs money, food and water.

If you sail without ANY food/water then not only the prestige decreases from sailors, but also from your aide (s) that accompany you. Prevention/Action of your aide won't work then including this one. This is a common mistake that traders makes by loading their cargo full with burnable trade good while sailing without supply.

Well, I can only attest to the fact that very rarely, despite having ample provisions and money on hand, and an Aide in the correct job with maxed traits in all fields, disasters have sometimes still happened despite an Aide prevention skill being active.

Make of that what you will, and be careful not to sail without sufficient money/supplies, and to keep a few "red herring" trade goods in your cargo hold to act as a fire-magnet (fish caught with Fishing are my favorites for this), just in case.

Something that helps with preventing any of the sailing disasters is equip a figurehead with a high(7-8) Crisis Protection rating(the first of the 4 figurehead stats). Another thing that helps is keep sailor fatigue to a minimum, which is helped by the second stat a figurehead has, Fatigue Relief. That's why the Quetzalcotl figurehead is great for adventure and trade, it's stats are 7/7/0/0, and since they are player made, sell for 5m-ish in stores and bazaars.
