while sailing, high waves can struck your ship which causes you to change course and damage your ship, usually happens when sailing in high seas. This skill prevents that from happening. This is usually used by traders especially if a player is sailing far and goes afk from time to time. they have a peace of mind that there ship wont go off course. Same effect as "wind resistant" skill but for high winds.

Adventurers too, not just traders. It's especially useful around eastern South America, where high waves and wind gusts are very frequent.

If an Aide has a higher rank like A or S will the skill work better? My aide with a B rank in navigator didn't work for me an waves hit my ship twice within like 2 minutes. She is now at A rank. I want to know if it helps. Thanks.

Yes, it will work more often.

Think of the Trait points as being a bit like a percentage measure. The closer you are to 100, the more likely a skill like this one will trigger. Note that even at 100 Trait points, an Aide skill will only trigger about 99.9% of the time; it can still fail when the Trait value's maxed, it just happens very rarely from that point on. Cheers.
