but if u wanna grind procurement as well , go to the landing point next to caracas , that's the perfect spot for berries

If you are serious about grinding storage do yourself a favor and get a damask dolman , jewelry box or wise man staff also, miser chains.
now the fish is gonna make this very easy, please note that once you get a few more fishing levels plus oxford skills you will be getting mako shark and swordfish(syracuse) , in syracuse and portobelo.

if you are venetian get a dolman and jewellery box, buy as much tuna as you can from zadar and rank it up fast until level 7 or 8

Here's my trail for leveling,
Lvl 1 - convert fishies
Lvl 2-8 - convert berries to your choice
Lvl 8-10 - Recommmended fishing tuna(at least r8 fishing i think) in fornt of syracuse
Lvl 10+ - fish merlin(highest xp for storage i think) in 600,3330 near two islands south of syra. Try to minimize fire and rat disasters to prevent your swordfish eaten.

anyone know if there is a rank at which you can become unplunderable? Or would I just be waiting my time getting it over 10?

Storage directly counters Plunder, it doesn't make you unplunderable but it determines if you lose any "rare" items and to an extent how much gold and trade goods. You can still get a bad roll and lose a lot to somebody with relatively low plunder skills however so there is no such thing as "unplunderable"

and r15 storage is great but if you run up against r20 plunder, the result won't be good.

Screw doing it Claudia's way.. get r1+7, get a venice player go to zadar, buy tuna and covert till you can reach r14 with boosts then go and turn bamboo at lisbon...

I've been fishing for mako and swordfish to grind storage to rank 15. Is this still the most efficient way? Most online guides seem to advocate that approach. Thanks!

Since higher level recipe items yield more proficiency, mako and swordfish are one of the best ways to grind this skill. But don't underestimate tuna! Despite being a simple r8 recipe, they also give great amounts of proficiency, and are much easier to catch in bulk, or grow on private farms.

Thanks, Bonny! I've been doing the tuna as well (roughly 1000 proficiency per 100 tuna at rank 12). I just wanted to make sure that some other recipe hadn't come along.

There is one recipe that's actually better then Mako and Swordfsh when grinding Storage. You need to have Hangzhou opened for nanban, or at least one port in China. Do a trade for Bamboo. Bring it to Lisbon to the Trainer NPC. There's a R14 storage recipe that uses 1 bamboo to make a ton of Bamboo Leaf. Storage skill goes up wild with that one, and you can make a nice profit selling the Bamboo Leafs as pet food. And it can be done as early as R5 Storage if you have the right equipment plus the miser chains.

I didnt try bamboo but swordfish is more efficient than others. with +storage items i tried to grind storage with gold dust recipe from around r12 to r14 and spend about 4 days and whole lot of 999 quinoa porridge. Then switch to swordfish and i got to base 16 new full max in 2 days and because high level of fishing lasts longer i just spent around 200 salted fish with nuts. From the r14 on i noticed that every 3 mako gives around 50 proficiency and every 2 swordfish gives around 50 proficiency. So in short swordfish rules.
