You don't need r20 recipies to benefit from r20 you see secret of SB book being so popular but there isn't any ship that only r20 can build/improve if casting can go to r20 then there'd be SOME r20 smiths that can make the best master cannons and equipments etc. If sewing/handi/cooking etc. can go to r20 I don't see why casting should be left out.

and in reference to your r20 sb i only have r12 with boost and job but even i know to improve a turk galley 7/7 properly you need r21SB tho it works with r19...you dont here them whine because they cant get another +1

from r10-15 i did MCT in Ceylon and Calicut, collecting the ores in Ceylon n casting and buying lumber between Jambi and Pegu also did a little HC

^^ and you can cast the blue and yellow to copper and tin then do bronze or if you got HC r10+ you can cut gems
but its now worth saving the blue ore for MST recipes

Those of you who were whinning about my whinning you guys are so hypocritical lol. Do you realize I was initially trying to add information while you guys ONLY made multiple whinning posts? Someone else pointed out that there is another item that adds +1 to casting and I mentioned it goes in the same equipment slot so they cannot overlap. This information is not on this site yet. Before anyone says "well I already know this" remember that this site provides info for those who do not already know or want to double check and if info that some people may already know should not be added to the site then you're saying >80% of the site should be deleted.

The complain t about the lack of + items is a whine because it is also true of other skills. There is only 1 +1 cooking item the Blue Ribbon. There is only 1 + sewing item the broom There is only 1 +1 Handicrafts item the Hammer.

You cannot compare production items to combat skill items

Don't spread incorrect information - eg, jade necklace is another +1 to sewing that is equipped at at different slot to the broom meaning you can get +2 from items & for handi you can get +1 clothings that is different for male or female characters. Also the initial person posted useful information stating that +castng items overlap on the same slot while most of the following posts adds no info to the page. Stop it already.

R20 Casting doesn't increase chance of great success, but I've wondered if your great successes yeild better products. Like carro-16's with better dura & penetration if you're r20 than if you're r15 or whatever. Anybody confirm one way or the other? If not, I'll just stay r17 if no point getting higher.

Tufan is my choice. It also has melee skills such as sp and sm.

You don't need +1 to grind casting. It would be better but not actually recommended, Just use hammer and get the job +1 and it would be enough. Unless you want to be those r19 or even r20 casters then better get an aide.

portuguese or not , if u're female toon , go lima and get a dress +2 mineral trading , massawa for a ring +2 mineral trading , and a aide +1 mineral trading , go hamburg , buy lead ore , iron ore , copper or and tin ore , coal , then make it to iron , bronze , lead , iron + coal = cannon balls , sit there 2 days and u'll get casting r16

Today I found out a new fast but expensive way to grind casting :)

If you are portuguese, you can invest in Lisbon, buy copper ore there, make copper, buy copper plating at carpenter in shipyard and make light (or weathered) copper platings using "Making extra metal armouring" book (which you can buy at craftsman). Well, it is a little bit expensive, but it gives nice skill proficiency. I am at rank 15 and i get 5 skill points from each production. So at rank 9 I think you will get even more.
Actually now I am making light iron platings using Rank 10 recipe from the same book. From 600 iron I plan to get about 5000 skill points. And it will cost me about 30-40 mil :) But I don't care much about it, because i really want to max casting :)

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, at your rank I advice you to buy Iron ore in Algiers (bring some equipment with disguise), sail to Barcelona while making Iron.
Buy Steel in Barcelona and sail back to Algiers while making Shamshirs (Rank 8 recipe from "Weapon manufacturing techniques" book).
This recipe only needs 1 iron +1 steel and gives nice skill proficiency.

You will get more proficiency improving copper plates, but this way is more expensive. On the other hand, improving copper plates is not so expensive as improving iron plates :)
If you have high mineral trading and wares trading then you can try shamshirs. Also making shamshirs involves sailing and producing at sea without clicking mouse too much.
Improving plates involves many mouse clickings and no sailing.

I bought that book from dutch player for 5 mil yesterday - he was very greedy :) You can also ask some dutch or spanish player to get you this book :)
And pay attention that the recipe is not to make plating, but to improve it. Because improving consumes only 1 copper, while making plating consumes 35 copper + 10 iron

thats probably an outdated guide. you can collect white ores in newfoundland or get from private farm and do mct all the way to r16

Making gold from gold dust is the fastest way and you don't need metal trading just go to Boudreaux church dungeon they drop tons of it. Also don't be afraid to buy gold dust from company shop it's well worth it if the price is right

I use gold dust too to grind casting. A good way is to find 1-4 company member/friend to go with you buy gold dust. In exchange, you give them the gold you make with the dust they bought. Everyone got 1-2m in profit and casting go up fast. I go from r11+2 to r15 really fast.

I wasn't sure about this source at first but based off the experience of two other friends I decided to give it a shot. I received my package exactly as outlined and as ordered. I immediately commenced my cycle using their Test Enanthate/Deca Durabolin. I began at 500 mg Test E and 400 mg Deca. I later increased it to my max dose of 750 mg Test E and 600 mg Deca. This is about my 4th AAS cycle, and second of test and deca, which is why I took the dose a little higher. I gained 12 pounds on this cycle, which doesn't really say a whole lot, as that could be from many things, however, I also hit 4 personal best's as my strength increased throughout the cycle. One of the best things I got from this cycle is the joint lubrication to my joints as it allowed me to finally squat deep and heavy again, which before was limited to my better days. Sides were minor and consisted of some acne, oily skin, and drop in libido. Overall I am very impressed with the ease of ordering and the effectiveness of the gear itself and will definitely use them again.

You need to change or get the job Blacksmith in order to reach r16. Quest is here A message but there is a prequest you need to do first before it shows up.

I believe the Haori that gives +1 Casting was a NC item (Cash Shop) and is not tradeable therefore you can't find anyone selling it. It was removed when UWO was transferred to OG.

Just a quick additional note (I'm not Lena), the max rank for a favored skill is 15, unless there's a job where that skill is "Expert", as is the case with Blacksmith. Then it can go to 16 (with an additional +1 from being "Expert"). I wish you well in your ventures.

No test that I have ever seen has evaluated the quality of the great successes. While it's true that r20 yields no more successes than r15, I would be interested in how many of those great successes were max cannons in each respective job. It well could be that Blacksmth job yields more 1584 cannons than a job that simply favors it.

An unlisted alternative +1 Casting weapon also exists: Knight's Stiletto

Pros: KS has 65 durability as opposed to the Shipwright's hammer which only has 5. The hammer is needed for certain recipes, but the KS is not.
Cons: The KS requires both an Adept of Ages title, and 500 Casting contribution to Florence per production (see its page for full details).

The KS seems a better long-term option for dedicated casters than the hammer, to me. Judge for yourself whether or not it's worth acquiring one.

Now available from the Barca Solar Mystery Bottle is the Smith's Coat. It is a body equippable item which gives +1 Casting, and is unisex. Fame required to equip it is presently unknown.

Rather than equipment, there is an Original Ship Skill, Manufacture Lab (R4 Management to use, R5 Shipbuilding and Infirmary + Workshop + Original Ship Permit x1 to install), which gives +1 to Sewing, Casting, and Handicrafts.

I managed to win the Steam Engineer's Work Suit from the bottle, and I can confirm that the stats are indeed what OGplanet stated. Either it's a completely different outfit then what you looked up, or it was altered for us on GAMA.

Steam Engineer's Work Suit - male-only
Steam Engineer's Dress Suit - female-only
Stats for both: Casting / Merchandise Knowledge +2, Management +1, 500 fame to equip
