new job for 3rd?

I'd guess Gran Atlas, based on the L75+ level requirements (though maybe the level cap will be raised sooner?). Interesting that Navigation, Management, and Arms will finally be favored by these upcoming jobs.

This promises to be the ultimate job for port camping trading carracks, sailing in circles, and generally playing bored grab-ass at sea. We cannot wait.

any info about how to get it?

Can't actually get the job until Gran Atlas arrives, but you -can- get an early start towards it. The job card quest apparently comes at the end of a multi-part quest chain; the first part of that chain is available as of the Midnight Sun patch. It's called:

Country of Pirates - Santo Domingo Maritime guild
7 star difficulty, with the following steps:

1. [Nassau] pirate messenger conversation x2.
2. [Nassau] black businessman conversation pay x2.
3. [Jamaica] pier officials talk x2.

Note that the NPC names are taken from a Japanese-to-English translation, and undoubtedly differ from the names used in GAMA. (Pier Official = Port Official, for example.) I'm afraid I couldn't find a fame requirement for the quest on any of my usual haunts, or I'd list that as well.

Do you know what and many NPCs you have to fight in that quest? In anycase this looks like an excellent job with a nice balance of cannon and melee skills. Only drawback is it doesn't have repair as favored, or it would be prefect.

The quest I'm talking about ("Country of Pirates") doesn't appear to have any battles, and should only be a 'talk to these NPCs to complete it' kind of quest. The job card quest will definitely have a target fleet, though I know nothing about its specifics at this time. Additionally, the "Country of Pirates" quest awards 1,035,200 ducats upon completion, which very helpfully covers the price of admission to Nassau for non-pirate players.

Agreed on the skills, too. It's a shame repair isn't favored, but I suppose the reason could be that a Grand Admiral would be too busy directing their fleets in battle to be bothered with patching up battle damage. Ah, the perks of leadership: delegating responsibilities to others.

Quest after "Country of Pirates" is "Commission from Port Royal". A chrono quest with English as a prereq and is 6 stars. It will allow access to Port Royal.

You have to first have Charted the Antilles region from the Mercator.

After that look for the quest "Country of Pirates" in Santo Domingo MT guy by the bank. As stated above only requirement is English. Bring LOTS of QMP's.

Because it's a Chrono quest, you cannot share it with anyone in fleet, so everyone has to pull it separately.

"Request from Port Royal" or something to that effect is the next quest also from Santo Domingo. Requirements are the same as previous, (make sure you've charted the sea region), and bring lots of QMP's. After that you can open Port Royal.

"Governor-General's Plan" is the next quest, also taken in Santo Domingo.

"Gold smuggling ship attack plan" is the rough translation of the next quest, also taken from Santo Domingo.

"World where pirates live" is the final quest taken in LONDON maritime guild. It will make you sail back to Port Royale for the remainder of the quest.

After these are completed you'll get the job card for Grand Admiral. :)

Another disappointing new job.
Neither Evasion nor Repair is favored and favored arms skill is totally meaningless to lvl 76 players.

Attacking a gold-smuggling convoy is the exact name of the 4th quest of the chain

About a year or so's worth of updates from now, Age of Revolution's first chapter will be released. With it, Arms, along with Management and Navigation, can be leveled to R15. New ship skills with R10+ required Arms/Navi/Management will also be added to the game. So this job, and its trade/adventure counterparts, will become very important in the near future.

In order to get the job card again, the following quest is the subsequent of "The World of Pirates" called "A commission from Henry Morgan".

This is an 17-4 Chrono quest with 9 star difficulty with as reward 310.000 D, 62.000 D (advanced) and the job card of grand admiral.

You need to defeat about 20 Random Buccanneers which consist Heavy Galleons (normal shots) and Refitted Heavy Carrack (Chain-shots) at (12687;3977). It is recommended to have decent melee stats and armour at least 90 or higher.

Didn't realize until now but the World of pirates quest for this job is also a prerequisite for the new Atlantis battle chain to get the bravery boots which when equipped have a special effect to raise melee stats
