@Steward : If you want a fairly calculated price per chest then you should take into account the droprate....
1 x SB+1 = 20 chests (assuming 5% droprate)
Therefore 10b/20 = 500m per chest
so if you want to buy a lotto for the SB+1 it will cost you between 250m-500m per chest

If you think that price is crazy, you should tell that to the rare hunters.... I heard from 2 r15 plunder hunters that the droprate for the chest is like 1 chest for 6-7hours of pure grinding....sometimes they can go the whole day with nothing.

I think that's a bargain actually.....I know someone who spent USD$1000 on TB and didn't get anything..... 250m ducats is much much cheaper than 2900NC for a lotto chance >.<

i remember someone asked GM about this matter and GM said there's no SB book as dropable item on this server yet

droprate with r15 plunder and seize cargo and ambush and rare plunder items from college and title for 50% more to get rare things.. its 3-5 per day. sometime more... and droprate for book its just 1%. good luck.

The new patch to be released today adds new buildings that can be built at colonies, one of which (manufacture bureau) adds +1 to all productions skills, including Shipbuilding.

This will all but kill the value of the SSB book. The value of the book will fall to much less than a billion in my opinion.

We'll have to wait to see whether it's in colony or everywhere, either way the book's value gona be lower than 1b , because instead of having a ship built r20, we can just go to colony and have it built r19 outside, improved r20 in colony

Considering that high level ships need r21+ "suggested" for less fail chances,r21 SBs will be probably more "valuable" than r20s... also, probably r21 allows further cargo increase/decrease without penalty

U can get it without rare plunder and without ambush (on aide). Not sure about the min plunder rank, \

With 10 you are sure to get as long as you have seize cargo aide skill and successful plundering 1 and 2 (Oxfords) active.

well those that think plunder rank aint important, go try with r1 plunder, see what u get. best results ive had is with r13 or higher, its like collection, sure u can get stuff, but higher rank means better odds and more of it. i have made 20b off them chests and if ur plunder is low, u will be there 2 years to get anything worth ur time.

well Fanta, u know me and i disagree, as i said r13+ plunder is what i found to work best to get this chest, have been getting them since plunder r7,( about the time i got Rare Item Plunder skill) but the higher rank does make it drop more often as i have seen, idk about other stuff, books and such, but anyone feel free to test ur r1 plunder and give us feedback as to how many u get and how many fleets it takes to get 1

U can try with r20 plunder if you don't have seize cargo and the right Oxfords, and you don't trigger the aide skill enough times you will never get it, maybe there is a remote possibility you do without that but I really doubt plunder rank determines rare drop frequency probability. since I know of many outstanding maritimers never getting the chest with really high plunder ranks and with rare plunder to go along.

Aide skill depends on its lieutenant rank, aide seize cargo triggers plunder rank 10 if aide is 100S lieutenant, this is confirmed through several wiki sites

Therefore, you dont actually need plunder skill on you for this chest if you're getting it from aide skill , Plunder skill rank affects cargo (pepper, water, food,...) drop amount , not drop rate, as i mentioned above drop rate is set unless you have rare item oxford

The skill is not required to obtain this item, it just raises the probability of acquiring it by a certain percentage (which so far as I know, is hidden from UWO players and therefore difficult to precisely measure).
