you can find the fleet that drops these round the newfoundland waters, they usually consist of a First class vaiss and galleons.

You only need R1. Higher rank just gets you more basic items. Confirmed by a GM.

It was also a GM that said r10 should be the minimum rank to plunder any of the rarer items. but hey, id like to see you plunder the SB chest with r1 plunder, gl :)

U can get it without rare plunder and without ambush (on aide). Not sure about the min plunder rank, \

With 10 you are sure to get as long as you have seize cargo aide skill and successful plundering 1 and 2 (Oxfords) active.

Having plunder is important, the rank isn't. Confirmed years ago by a KOEI rep through a NM GM.

well those that think plunder rank aint important, go try with r1 plunder, see what u get. best results ive had is with r13 or higher, its like collection, sure u can get stuff, but higher rank means better odds and more of it. i have made 20b off them chests and if ur plunder is low, u will be there 2 years to get anything worth ur time.

I think Gionet or Lodian once mentioned they plundered rare stuff ( books , not this chest ) with their plunder skill archived

well Fanta, u know me and i disagree, as i said r13+ plunder is what i found to work best to get this chest, have been getting them since plunder r7,( about the time i got Rare Item Plunder skill) but the higher rank does make it drop more often as i have seen, idk about other stuff, books and such, but anyone feel free to test ur r1 plunder and give us feedback as to how many u get and how many fleets it takes to get 1

U can try with r20 plunder if you don't have seize cargo and the right Oxfords, and you don't trigger the aide skill enough times you will never get it, maybe there is a remote possibility you do without that but I really doubt plunder rank determines rare drop frequency probability. since I know of many outstanding maritimers never getting the chest with really high plunder ranks and with rare plunder to go along.

Aide skill depends on its lieutenant rank, aide seize cargo triggers plunder rank 10 if aide is 100S lieutenant, this is confirmed through several wiki sites

Therefore, you dont actually need plunder skill on you for this chest if you're getting it from aide skill , Plunder skill rank affects cargo (pepper, water, food,...) drop amount , not drop rate, as i mentioned above drop rate is set unless you have rare item oxford

The skill is not required to obtain this item, it just raises the probability of acquiring it by a certain percentage (which so far as I know, is hidden from UWO players and therefore difficult to precisely measure).
