jewel cut books suck for ranking handy takes to long to collect mats. Best to make sherry until rank 14 or 15 it may only be r8 but the mats are so fast and easy to get it will rank faster then anything else even at higher ranks

The best way and also most efficient way cost efficient way to lvl handicraft after rank 10 is not these stupid gems or sherry it's boot making.
Boot making requires 10 vegetable oil and 10 leather per improve the vegetable oil cost about 50 each and it takes roughly 500 or 25mil worth of vegetable oil to make a 100 defense boots which you can then sell for 100 mil each which will give you enough money to buy even more veg oil to make more boots. Even if you have horrible luck crafting you can sell 60-70 defense boots for 25-40 mil making up for the initial loss of 25 mil for the 500 vegetable oil

Each improve gives roughly 10-20 proficiency points each time which is awesome! So you can make money while you grind. Trust me make boots it's the best way

Gems are certainly faster than sherry past r14 (or 12+2), if you do it right ; which means both land activity oxford skills turned on, and in a good landing point (for instance ceylon, where the ratio ores/other junk is high).

The drawback of Ceylon is that you will get small exp/fame from selling as it's in india and less profit from saphire/rubies, but it's the fastest.


Boot making is an entirely other beast. I am quite sure you will lose money if you start doing it at r10, even with all 5 oxford (4 GS + item improvement) and aide on paymaster 100. Remember that although a higher rank in handicrafts does not change the probability of GS it does improve the bump to defense per success. I have not tried doing this for grinding, so I cannot tell how it fares exp-wise, but money-wise it's a bad calculation at least under r13-14.

Thats not true about boots CPC did a test on this and the amount the boots increase with all five Oxford is 2 to 7 points and thats regardless of whether you get a great success or a regular success. I really want to try this boot making process to see how it pans out...the best way to grind in this game is to do something that grinds it without knowing it

boots are good for money not ranking takes to long to collect the vegetable oil im telling ya it is Best to make sherry until rank 15 I went from rank 1 to rank 12 in 1 day thanx to sherry money was not good but ranks fast I would half to spend 1/2 a day standing at a landing collecting vegetable oil and still not have enough to rank once yes boots are great for money but crappy to rank handy craft

Just try it once and see take a crap load of Po2 to Bordeaux and start cranking out sherry you never need to leave port and watch the craft exp roll in
