Make a new toon, get it to level 11, invest in the port, get the book, give it to a friend, get back on your main, have your friend hand it over. Doesn't seem that hard *shrug*

Who knows though, maybe I'll get me a Spanish / Dutch friend one of these days, or just stalk with "search" under the Town official's, which sometimes works too ;)

Go to Barcelona with some request investment books and money for the book. Ask any spanish player to invest for you and give you the book - most people will do it for you.

If they already have the book, they should hand it to you before they invest so they can get it again.

Yeah, it actually might be an idea - thanks for that. I think it's just what I'll do, once I'm back in EU and have some time to wait for (good) people to show up :)
And yep, looks like a decent Nanban trade item, craftable nearby too.

If you want to make it take longer and cost more knock yourself out I guess. The first way just takes one friend of any nationality. And the character you play is a toon ( that's what it means) so you broke your oath right out of the box.

Yep, I've enclosed "toons" in brackets, making it a subtle (and pretty obvious, in my naive belief) expression for alts. And yeah, what's the problem, anyway?...
