Assuming

1- 40% GS rate (which is iirc what you would get from workshop + oxfords + aide on paymaster, but any corrections on the math are welcome),

2- this is the same as 5 mcts (stacking or faster use favor this over mcts, but they cannot be divided back, so I guess it's not significantly different)


...you turn 5 mcts into 10 40% of the time and gain nothing the other 60%. On the average, that makes 5 to 0.6*5+0.4*10 = 7 mcts.

So you spend 10 lumber and 10 steel for two extra mcts.

Now ok, white ore for regular mcts is hard to find. But still, a r15 recipe with 10 ingredients per mct ? How is that even going to be used for anything but grinding ?

What am I missing ?

Iago-Moor, You are missing the fact that it repairs 5 dura instead of just 1 dura of regular MCT...so you convert 10 MCT (+10 ship dura repair) into 14 silver ones (+70 ship dura repair) so you got 7X more ship dura repair, also with a stack of 999 MCTs on bank you just got the repair power of +999 ship dura, with a stack of 999 silver MTC on bank you get a repair power of 4995...so it will be a really hand item to have and a nice upgrade from regular MCTs

@Hafus : if I am to believe the first comment on Shipwright Basics - Casting Book, the recipe turns 10 mcts into 2-4 smcts (not 10-20). So even 100% GS would "only" double repairing power, not multiply it by 7.

I understand that it stacks better and repairs faster (by the way, noobish question : you can use mcts during battle, right ?), but I am questioning whether it's really worth the premium in materials.

no...you can't use those MCT or this during fight as this thing repair sails and some other thing as well(rudder too? cant remember)...

it really up to the person whether to decide if it is worth it or not...but for grinding....beyond r12/r13 base other than gold dust, the price of po4 or tempering weapons...this thing really helps...

QUestion: if it has same effect as 5 MCCT , needs to make with 5 MCCT , why not use 5 MCCT instead ? ('-')

200 of these is the same as 1000 mccts, so you can effectively carry 2000 mccts on your person instead of having to stop and go find more or make more. Convenience is the reason for them.

Yes is true need more ingredients than MCCT, and need R15, but LCCT are very efficient after Ganador . Even some bosses drop MCCT still lot of players use LCCT , time you spend to restore 100 or more dura with LCCT is less than MCCT , 5x times faster.
Now then most important thing is the price, always I buy MCCT for 30-35k each not 40-45k+ and never buy LCCT expensive than 250k.
Yes these prices are true, until someone buy all and resell in Seville for
40k+ or 300k+ for LCCT :)

Also it's not the only reason! You gotta think that they can produce 1-2 every time so if you have oxfords you can get more LCCT :)
