I saw a new John Dee recipe called Forging Fool's Feet. It was NOT the recipe for creating Fool's Feet or Golden Feet. Anyone know what this is? I want to say ingredients were gold, black potion, and Fool's Feet. Possibly improve to 100 def?

I believe so. The forging golden feet i have done myself. Sold a pair of 100 def golden feet!

Nice to know! But is there some benefit to forging Fool's feet over the standard boots via Handicrafts which I'm unaware of? It's certainly easier to get vegetable oil and such together in a hurry than it is black ointments, at least. And if leather boots break, it's a lot less painful to replace them than it would be losing Fool's feet during the 100 defense grind process.

Good news! If the failure rate is less, it is definitely worth a look as an alternative to leather or fur boots. Will match my gold armor nicely too! Thanks so much for the info.

Three months later, I wonder if research has shown the failure rate turned out to be less than plain old leather/fur boots after all? Shiny golden metal boots would certainly look much more chic.

Hardly a thorough test but I failed on my third attempt. Will try again when I get more mats. Set up was alchemy 5+3, Casting 15+2, production success 3 & 4 and item improvement. Paymaster skill of aide was 83.

Each success gave about 50 alchemy proficiency so, with a little luck, a good string of successes could boost the skill considerably.
